Risk Assessments Overview

SHARD risk assessments (part of SHARD - HSEQ) cover safety documentation including RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statement), LMRA (Last Minute Risk Assessment), JSA (Job Safety Analysis), HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), HAZID (Hazard Identification), and general risk assessments. Use Risk Assessments for the workflow landing page and Safety Library for the assessment table, drawer, and document library.

What is a risk assessment?

A risk assessment is a systematic process of identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing controls to ensure work can be performed safely. Different types of assessments serve different purposes:

RAMS: Comprehensive method statement for work activities
LMRA: Quick assessment before starting work
JSA: Job-specific safety analysis
HAZOP: Process hazard analysis
HAZID: Initial hazard identification
General: Other types of safety assessments

Assessment Lifecycle

Draft: Initial creation, can be edited
Submitted: Submitted for review
Under Review: Being reviewed by approvers
Approved: Approved and active
Rejected: Rejected, needs revision
Expired: Past its validity date
Superseded: Replaced by a newer version
