Table Interface

Using the table interface: inline editing, filters, and drawer

Safety Library Table Interface

The Safety Library table provides a powerful interface for viewing, editing, and managing assessments. It's similar to the support tickets interface, providing consistent functionality across the platform.

Table Features

Checkboxes (First Column)

Use checkboxes to select multiple assessments for bulk operations:

  • Click individual checkboxes to select specific assessments
  • Click the header checkbox to select/deselect all visible assessments
  • Selected assessments can be used for bulk actions (when available)

Pop-out Menu Button

The right arrow icon in the "View" column opens a drawer showing:

  • Full assessment details
  • Attachments section with upload capability
  • Comments and discussions
  • Activity timeline
  • Inline editing of fields

Inline Editing

Edit assessments directly in the table:

  • Double-click any editable cell (Title, Status, Type) to start editing
  • Or click once to select, then press Enter to edit
  • Changes save automatically when you click outside or press Enter
  • Editable fields: Title, Status, Assessment Type

Filters

Use filters to find specific assessments quickly:

Search Filter

Type in the search box to search by:

  • Assessment number (e.g., "RA-001")
  • Title keywords

Status Filter

Use the Status dropdown to filter by:

  • Draft, Submitted, Under Review, Approved, Rejected, Expired, Superseded

You can select multiple statuses at once.

Type Filter

Filter by assessment type: RAMS, LMRA, JSA, HAZOP, HAZID, or General

Refresh Button

Click the refresh icon to reload data and clear filters.

Empty Row for Quick Creation

The table always shows an empty row at the top for quick creation:

  1. Click in the Title field of the empty row
  2. Type your assessment title
  3. Press Enter or Tab to save
  4. A new draft assessment is created immediately

Sorting

Click column headers to sort:

  • First click: Sort ascending
  • Second click: Sort descending
  • Third click: Clear sort

Sortable columns: Number, Title, Type, Status, Version, Updated

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Click: Select cell
  • Double-click: Start editing cell
  • Enter: Start editing selected cell / Save changes
  • Escape: Cancel editing
  • Ctrl/Cmd + C: Copy selected cell(s)
  • Ctrl/Cmd + V: Paste into selected cell(s)
  • Shift + Click: Select range of cells
  • Ctrl/Cmd + Click: Toggle cell selection

Best Practices

  • Use filters to narrow down large lists before editing
  • Use the drawer for detailed editing and attachments
  • Take advantage of inline editing for quick updates
  • Use keyboard shortcuts for faster data entry
  • Sort by "Updated" to see recent changes first
