Location Layouts
Location Layouts define location trees and spatial models for ATLAS Directory records, then expose them to project roots and operational pickers. This is where you author operational instances, templates, and scoped layout structures used by PTW, risk assessments, and other modules.

When to Use
Use Location Layouts when a directory record needs a location tree or spatial model before projects, permits, or checklists can reference precise operational nodes.
A Directory item identifies what you manage. A Location Model (spatial model) describes its physical layout. Individual location tree nodes are the operational places you pick in PTW and other modules — do not collapse these layers.
How to create a Location Model
Bind a spatial model to a Directory record, name the model, and open the location tree editor.

Location models overview Location Models define spatial layouts for a Directory item. They are distinct from Directory catalogue entries and from individual location tree nodes.

Start new model Create model begins the wizard to bind a spatial model to a Directory site or facility.

Select Directory item Choose the Directory record this spatial model describes — for example MV Northern Star or a yard facility.

Model name and scope Name the spatial model and confirm scope before building the location tree.

Created location model detail The created model opens in the editor where you add location tree nodes — the operational hierarchy used by PTW and other modules.
Reuse seeded Northern Star location model when available instead of creating duplicates.

Open ATLAS → Location Layouts in the main app. Start from ATLAS Directory when you need to pick the site record first.
